6 Tropical Islands That You Didn't Know Existed

When we think of tropical islands, gorgeous photos of Bora Bora, Fiji, and the Maldives come to mind. With crystal clear water and bright white sands, it's the perfect Instagram backdrop. It's no wonder why millions of tourists this year have been flocking to these islands. But if you're looking for a place that's just as breathtaking without being flooded with influencers, check out these islands:

1. Mo'orea, French Polynesia

With a relaxed vibe and more than enough excursions available, Mo'orea is easily one of my favorites. Resorts with overwater bungalows and luxury spas, snorkeling and ray feeding excursions, 4x4 Safari tours, Ziplining, hiking trails, and yacht outings are just a few highlights of this island.

2. Koh Lipe, Thailand

This island is less accessible than others (like Phuket) but that just means everything will be less busy and more peaceful. It's a tiny island - walking from one side to the other should only take about 30 minutes. In other words, everything you need for a great vacation - restaurants, spas, shops, tours, etc. - is all in walking distance. If you're looking for an island with low transportation costs, check out Koh Lipe:

3. Whitsunday Islands, Australia

The Whitsunday Islands have a little something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a good family vaca spot, a luxury getaway, or a new adrenaline rush, you can find your dream destination within these 4 Islands.

4. Naxos, Greece

Naxos is predominantly family-travel friendly, but this calm island welcomes all. Especially those looking to spend some time relaxing on the beach, checking out historic tours, and hitting the water for some kitesurfing or scuba diving. With an open air cinema on the island and a sweet waterpark, you'll have to actually try to be bored.

5. San Blas Islands, Panama

The San Blas Islands are a great spot for people looking to just relax. Hang out on the beach, soak up the sun on a catamaran, or snorkel your way around the islands. And if you're looking into learning Spanish, they offer classes so you can learn authentically.

6. Marettimo, Italy

This little Italian island offers you peace and serenity, and tons of adventure. Go diving, explore some caves, or take a boat tour of the island between relaxing on the beach. Marettimo is one of the less-visited places in Italy, so you're sure to find your peace here.
