Why Does Allegiant's Phone Ring Busy Every Time I Call? | How to Cancel Your Allegiant Flight Online
Why can't I get through to Allegiant? I just keep getting a busy tone when I call.
Many airlines and cruise companies have had long wait times due to COVID-19. Some of them have been so busy, in fact, that their phone queue fills up entirely and can't accept any calls.
For the last week or so, Allegiant Airline's phone line has been ringing a busy tone for many callers, as a result of an extremely high volume of callers looking to cancel their flights amid fears of the coronavirus.

What can I do?
Allegiant is requesting that passengers with trips more than a week out do not call.
If your trip is more than a week out, please wait patiently.
If your trip is less than a week out, try these things:
This may sound like a joke, but it's not: you can call at an odd hour. Staying up until 3 AM isn't necessarily ideal, but you've got a better chance of getting through to an agent who can help you. Try at 11 pm, 1 am, 3 am, 4 am, and 6 am, and I would be shocked if you didn't get through to someone.

Then follow these steps:
1) Hit "Manage Travel" - it is a tab on the right side of the menu.
2) Find your reservation by typing in your first and last name and your confirmation number.
If you run into an error saying that your reservation cannot be found, check the spelling of your first and last name. It should be your legal name, as it reads on your driver's license.
If that doesn't work, check your confirmation number. It should be 6-digits, and a combination of letters and numbers.
If that doesn't work, you can switch tabs to search by the email or the credit card you used to create the reservation.
3) When your reservation comes up, you will see "Trip Summary" at the top followed by details of your flight. Scroll down just a little bit to the 3 light blue boxes. The first one is titled "Customize Your Trip". At the bottom of this box, hit "Cancel My Entire Trip".
Note: This will not automatically cancel your reservation - it will walk you through the steps and let you know if you're eligible for a full refund or for a voucher.
4) There will be a box that either pops up or is on the top of the page that says whether you're eligible for a refund or for a voucher. To continue the process, follow the prompts.
5) At the bottom of the page, there will be a button that says "continue," "cancel," or something of the sort. Hit that to complete the cancelation.
What happens next?
If you're eligible for a refund, it will be put on the card you used to pay. They can not, and will not, refund you with cash, a check, or on a different card. If you're eligible for a voucher, it will appear in the email that you used to make the reservation.
How do the vouchers work?
You'll need to know when it expires. The expiration date should be listed on the voucher in the top right-hand corner. It is a year from the purchase date. That means it won't be valid for a year starting today, but it will be valid for a year from the date you originally purchased the ticket.
Once you have that date, you'll need to schedule a trip within the valid time frame.
Let's use Sally as an example.
Sally bought an Allegiant Airlines plane ticket on 1/13/2020 to depart on 3/25/2020.
Sally then found out about COVID-19, the novel coronavirus going around, and decided it would be best for her to cancel her flight.
Sally couldn't get through to Allegiant's phone line, so she went through the online service.
Sally received her voucher, which is valid until 1/13/2021.
Sally knows that she'll need to travel and return by this date, so she scheduled a flight to depart on 12/14/2020 and return on 12/21/2020.
Sally will then use the "Credit Voucher Number" located on the voucher, which was in her email, when she is ready to pay for her flight. (Note: to find this number on the voucher, locate your name at the top of the voucher. It should say "Customer Name" directly above it. Now go down one line and you should see "Your canceled confirmation number is: XXXXXX". Right below that is where you will find this number.)
